A Wonder Spice Powder (Ayurveda) & Crunchy Raw Papaya Salad

A Wonder Spice Powder,the ayurvedic ghee (clarified butter) - spice recipe is a synergistic combination that is simple, yet effective way to stimulate the digestion and help the body detoxify :



2 tsps Ghee
1 tbsp Turmeric powder
1 tbsp Cumin powder
1 tbsp Coriander powder
1 tbsp Fennel powder(saunf)

Heat the Ghee in a small pan. Add the spices and stir to mix well, so that the aromas are released. Remove from heat before the spices burn.
Use this to top seasoned cooked vegetables.
Use this to top semi cooked veggies and salads.Regualar use of this spice powder helps in digestion and cleansing our system naturally.
Turmeric contains the flavanoid Curcumin, which is known to have Anti-inflammatory properties. This wonder spice helps detoxify the liver, balance cholesterol levels, fight allergies, stimulate digestion, boost immunity and enhance the complexion. Cumin and Coriander contain oils that are effective in helping to detoxify the liver and aid digestion.

Made this crunchy salad today.

Crunchy Raw Papaya Salad

1 cup raw papaya, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 cup of coarsely ground peanuts, 1tbsp fresh grated coconut, 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, salt, 1tsp oil, 1/2 tsp mustared seeds ,1 tbsp lemon juice. 2 green chillis(slit length wise)

Add turmeric and salt to the grated raw papaya.Combine well. Set aside for 15-20 minutes and lightly squeeze the water from the papaya. Add the coarsely powdered peanuts, grated fresh grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves. Combine well.
Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add green chillis and remove from heat. Add this to the papaya salad with lemon juice and combine. Adjust salt.(You can use powdered chick pea powder instead of peanuts)

    Your spice powder sounds interesting. I would like to try it. But I need some clarification. Since the spice pows(turmeric, cumin ect ) are roasted in 2 tbls of ghee won't it become a paste? Could u ou pls post a pic of the final product after frying the spices.
